Bowling +

White Bear Lake Grades 7-12 are eligible to join the bowling team and to compete in either JV or Varsity match play. All High school matches are bowled Baker Style.

6th graders are eligible to join but can only participate in practices.

All skill levels are welcome.

Transportation: There is no transportation provided by the school district.

Sponsoring Bowling Center: Flaherty's Arden Bowl (NEW bowling center)

Projected Program Size: 1 varsity team and 1 or 2 JV teams (ideal roster size of 5 to 6 bowlers per team)

Season Start Date (Practice Only): Monday, August 10, 2026

Practice Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:30pm (NEW Practice Days and Times)

Regular Season Competition: Friday afternoons from 3:15 - 6:00pm, beginning the Friday after Labor Day and running through mid November with the potential for the State tournament in early December.

The fee is $150 for the season.

Robotics +

The White Bear Lake Robotics Program is a member of the FIRST program. We are Team 2207, the Bright Bears. The FIRST program (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) helps to inspire students in STEM by emphasizing teamwork, problem-solving, and gracious professionalism. The White Bear Lake Robotics program is a Team activity that is recognized by the Minnesota State High School League as well as many colleges and industry corporations on a global scale. Team 2207 has been sponsored by Medtronic since its rookie season in 2007. Today, there are over ten thousand teams that are supported by global corporations and local businesses.
The Bright Bears have two different levels of involvement in our program. High school students (grades 9-12) will be the major focus of the program and the most competitive. The FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC) is a high school level “Custom Bot” program. Middle school students (grades 6-8) will be involved in our mentor program. Students will build a “Kit Bot” and work alongside the high school team during the build season. Both programs will abide by the same build and game rules that are established each year on the game reveal date. This is truly a dynamic opportunity that students need to experience. Students will be involved in robot design and fabrication, programming, team strategy development, fundraising, and travel to competitions.
Preseason begins in the fall with building starting in January.
